I know you are now looking into a wiped cam, but I hope it could be easier than that. I had what I thought was a knock earlier this year. Come to find out I just blew out part of my exhaust gasket near my #7 cylinder. I was surprised at how similar a knock sounds to an exhaust leak.

I have a knock and its not running on all cylinders . The motor is a 454ci , with a stock rebuild with a mild cam. 915 miles after rebuild..with a few hard ones squeezed in.
