They won't pull out of the holes. I've lifted the 454 out of my 70 about 6
times with a plate that bolts to the intake, never had a problem with it. Same
goes with the 440 that is in my 69 Charger and believe it or not, the 440
weighs more than the 454 does.

I know most people do but I use the bolts that bolt to the heads.
I would be leery about doing that on a vortex intake.
