  I have one of those gold anodized ones from a swap meet. Right after I bought 
it I didn't trust the stitch welds so I welded it the whole distance. I have 
lifted my 396 with 400 turbo 5 or 6 times with it along with a couple of small 
blocks with no problems. There is no indication that the center ring is 
stretching or showing any stress. Have had it about  5 - 6 years now. Works 
great!!

  wow thats good, i pictured a chevelle with crushed frnders and nose and a 
broken body inbetween!!! was it kind of a gold annodized in color?? i see them 
at the swap meets with the china made tools- i have had them in my hand and 
then said -- naa--
