Area code 434 is eastern Virginia. Car is in TX... Not an altogether
impossibility (job transfer?), but things certainly don't appear to add up with
any strong legitimacy. Especially the $4500 asking price. Of course, it may
be possible that they didn't hit enough zeros behind the "45." A $45,000
asking price would seem much more in line. Have them send you a copy of the
title and a digital pic of the VIN on the top of the dash, don't send a deposit
to a PO mail box; street address only, verify the address and name on one of
the white page directories, arrange for a personal inspection (or one by
somebody you trust) before paying off any balance, pay with a certified check,
etc, etc, etc. And most importantly, if anything smells funny, run, Forrest,
run! Lotsa scammers out there, so buyer beware.
