Another good source for engine codes is The Complete Chevrolet V-8 Engine Code Pocket Guide 1955-1991 known as "The Lime Book" by Edward W. J. McComas. This book covers ALL engine codes for Chevrolet V-8s from 1955-1991. I found the same answer as Dale did;CGV is listed as a 454, 1970 Chevrolet, 345hp, manual transmission, LS-4.
