Seems like a good thing to have, especially for long trips. The one
for my motorcycle list is several pages and includes riders from all
over the world.
BTW, my MC ('81 XS650) fits in the bed of my 69 El Camino quite
nicely, although I do have to leave the tailgate down to clear the
back tire. There are oval shaped holes in the frame rails just behind
the doors that you can hook the tie-downs into, so no special hardware
is needed. For a ramp I just used a sheet of 3/4" plywood ripped into
two 2x8's and screwed together. Since then I've gotten an Insta-Ramp
kit to make the plywood ramp a little nicer and easier (and safer) to
use. There are nicer, lighter aluminum ramps out there (JC Whitney)
but they are more expensive and I needed something that day. Keep in
mind that the longer your ramp is, the less steep the incline. The 8'
plywood ramp is long enough for me to get the bike into the bed by
myself w/o a winch. Just throwing that out there in case anybody else
has both an El Camino and a motorcycle. El Caminos are great for
towing MCs.
