Thanks for the info Dale. That's correct the early 70 SS Chevelles were still using the 69 SS wheels with the YA code. When that stock was depleted they went to the AO wheel. All 69 SS Chevelles used the YA wheel. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dale To: 'The Chevelle Mailing List' Sent: Friday, July 18, 2008 12:02 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Rim verification
At least early Baltimore (October/November), early Kansas City (October), and early Van Nuys (September) build sheets I have code the SS wheels as YA; all later SS cars show AO. I have no data that early for Arlington or Flint so I can't say. Calvin's lists an AM code for 70/71 Camaro except SS Z28. A little difference in offset is listed, .50 for the AM and .34 for the AO & YA. I took them off of my 70 Malibu, would you know what the correct coding should be for 70? I can tell you it's not a 69 SS Chevelle rim. The 69 SS would have a YA code.
