Number 1 if you have a 4.56 rear now, you will also have to change your carrier to a 3 series carries (you now have a 4 series). If your going to stay in town with a turbo 400 a 3.73 would be OK but if your going to cruise on the open road you should consider a 3.30 gear ratio. I have a 70 Chevelle with a 396 and Turbo 400 the rear is 4:56 which is way too much. I not racing it or anything just playing around with it. I want to change it to something a little less aggressive, What gears do you all recommend for the rear? Jimmy
