I have a 3:55 in my 70 Malibu and it is working great for me. I have a 700R4 with a lockout converter and with the 3:55 at 60 I am running around 2200 rpm and on the Hot Rod Power Tour I got 19mpg on the open road. I haven't dyno'ed the engine yet but am definitely above 400hp. The car really jumps off the line if I want to get on it as well. My suggestion 3:55.
