You can run 87, just need to back the timing off a little so it doesn't ping.
It will still run fine, just lack a little in the performance area. If you
don't want to do that, I'd go to the local dragstrip or Speed Shop and get some
race fuel to mix in with it. Look at it this way..110 octane race fuel is
anywhere from $8-$10 per gallon. Those little bottles of octane boost cost
like $4 or $5 and all you get is a pint.

I notice this weekend that most of the stations around our area have only
87 octane. I live about 50 miles SW of Houston and I guess it's because of our
recent hurricane. If you are running a high octane vehicle, what can you do!
Will the octane boosters I see in the local auto stores boost the octane enough
to bring it to at least 91?? I wonder how long this will last!
