When you have a 468 running an 871 blower, I'm afraid you can't back up the timing enough.
Is that all the octane boosters in the store are, is race gas? We can also get high octane Av gas locally, although it's very dry and I hear it works fine on a small block, but can burn a piston out on a big block! It will still run fine, just lack a little in the performance area. If you don't want to do that, I'd go to the local dragstrip or Speed Shop and get some race fuel to mix in with it. Look at it this way..110 octane race fuel is anywhere from $8-$10 per gallon. Those little bottles of octane boost cost like $4 or $5 and all you get is a pint.
