What bases are you referring to? The actual frame? Or the covers that go on the sides and back? From GM they were metal...but reproduction are plastic. They are physically the same from 66-72, except 66 doesn't have a button release, its on the side for 67, and then it's in the middle on the back for 68-72. Just going off memory here.
