Kinda figured that "it depends" would be the correct answer. I'll wait and talk to the shop monday AM. I checked NAPA, AZone & Oreilly and parts were not available. I'll hope that the machine shop can get them from a local jobber. Thanx all.

Back in the day, machine shops I used for this kind of stuff was generally a well equipped parts store with a machine shop in the rear. Almost everyone got "dealer" pricing on parts anyway but if a person wanted to bring their own parts in to be installed it usually meant no warranty.

Independent machine shops today generally rely (I would gather) on not only the labor but the markup on the parts as well.

I need to replace the axle bearings on the rear of my Tacoma. Gonna require a Machine shop to do it. In general, will they expect me to provide bearings, or will they want to order their own?

Local shops are already closed (can't ask them what they prefer) and if I need to order a set of bearings I'd like to do it tonite or tomorrow so I can recieve them by monday. Thanx.
