The 700 can be run without any electronics. If you want to take advantage of the torque converter lockup you do need 12 volts to the tranny and a specific solenoid inside. No big deal at all. The lockup will drop your cruise RPM 2-300RPM. IE cruising at 60MPH and running (for example) 2000RPM, if the converter locks, your RPM will drop to approx 1750. There are a few companies that sell a lockup kit for less than $100. or you can search the internet and find specific items that you will need and get the cost to less than $50. A 700 is a good investment for a daily driver. BTW - you will need to shorten your driveshaft for the 700.
