I had a weird email issue today. I had a report of emails not being sent from my site when passwords were changed. I could not see any errors in the logs, but when I changed my own password ... sure enough - no email notification.
Email delivery was certainly working OK though, because I receive emails when users log into the site, and that was working fine. So it seems like only SOME emails were a problem. So all that would seem to point to an application issue. BUT ... when I stopped and restarted the server, all was well again - which makes it seem like a server issue! I confess I am puzzled.
