Some great feedback on my last MCN on the different viewpoints about the
ICE/Gestapo's "Operation Endgame".

"In pointing out where Endgame will ultimately lead to he provides the argument
for building our alliances with other segments of society. I didn't go that
far so as to not add yet another layer of complexity to this mix. This is why
we MUST build our networks with the broader citizenry of this country. The
immimgrant community has may networks that tie into the citizen community of
this country.
They mow their lawns, care for their children, elderly, etc., etc. Through
these relationships many great friendships have emerged including marriages and
trust relationships where these citizens willingly come to the aid of their
immigrant friends and comrades, some at great sacrafice and potential
consequences.
We are promoting that our community leverage these networks as part of their
political and organizational "arsenal" that will play an integral role in
developing their support networks needed to survive and ultimately be able to
assume an offensive posture in pressing their demands.
When we advocate "preparation" , we are referring to building the ability of an
entire community to survive economically, socially, politically indefinitely.
This requires that we devise non-traditional means of income and ways to save
money on a large scale. This is the level of planning that must be done and
the more people across the country engaged in this type of preparation, the
faster the plan gets refined and polished. We are talking of developing micro
economies that can self sustain themselves and provide the economic support
immigrants will need when they can no longer work due to the repression against
the employers.
There are no "blueprints" for this type of work and therefore all lessons are
hard won and worth their weight in gold. The problem is that there is no
center to consult with, hash out problems and renew the effort in all areas.
Our concern has been to develop an organizational model that can be used to
start projects all over the place. It should be the foundation of any
organizing that will insure an organized base that the community can use to
survive, struggle and exercise it's will. This level of work paves the way for
the future of the immigrant community to learn how to act collectively, build
its organizations and learn how to make them flourish. Through the networks
from them to the rest of society, others will learn to use this model so that
the fight for democratic control of our country can spread to every corner.
We are talking of community gardens, buying wholesale through combined
purchasing power, opening up church facilites as community dining rooms, etc.
etc. all as part of the preparation that will be needed to weather the storm
that will hit us in short time.
This points out the need to build a national alliance that can operate on many
fronts. The dialogues and ideas that have come from here speak to a means to
bring pressure to bear on a federal level, to elect local officials and
legislators, etc.
Combine this into a grassroots based national alliance that can centralize our
forces into a viable body with each part performing at what it does best
(community organizing, electoral work, lobbying work, non profit work, raid
early warning systems, etc.).
Add to this a cohesive strategy and plan and all the parts can set into motion
in harmony, like an orchestra.
This is the path we must take to lift the yoke off of our collective
shoulders. Does anyone else have this vision? Our communty armed with this
type of organization, Carlos's oil boycott will be a snap. I'm not saying it
will be easy, I am only saying that it must be done, like it or not."

and his "yes, they can deport us all", or you agree with me and "they can't".
My argument is, precisely that Endgame is more a smokescreen than a real
program to deport all undocumented immigrants. I believe the real game is to
smash our community into fear and submission, NOT TO DEPORT 8 MILLION WORKERS,
but to subdue them.
Tony believes we have to prepare against massive deportatios; I believe we have
to fight back and prove they can't.
The daily deportation numbers are based on border figures. Yes, each day 700
are deported, from which 650 are deported again the next day and 600 are
deported two days later.
What we know, altogether, is that ICE deported 224,000 immigrants last year,
out of which 24,000 were workers caught in worplace raids. At this pace, ICE
would need... what? 1 million every five years, 2 millions in 10 years, oh,
about 60 years to deport all undocumented. Damned! I forgot! Between a quarter
million and half a million are getting here every year!! hmmmm... Oberwise and
FAIR are right! Immigrants will be the majority in the country in 10 years!
Police state? Yes. Using immigration as a pretext, whoever is in charge will
try to impose a state in total and absolute control. Let's accuse all the left,
progressives, liberals, unionist and their friends of being immigrants and
let's also deport them.
I respect Tony, but I still believe he is not right. We are not in denial, we
just believe and give less credit to Endgame, Chertoff and company. Otherwise,
to believe and prepare for the massive deportation of millions of people is...
to be part of the terrorist goals of Endgame... and I refuse to do that!"
CARLOS RESPONDS TO JORGE:
The problem with your conclusion Jorge is that you assume that "Operation
Endgame" will end when the Homeland Security Gestapo will say it will end. And
that assumption is incorrect.
History proves your assumption incorrect. Between 1953 - 1956 under "Operation
Wetback", more than two million (2,000,000) Mexicans were deported to Mexico,
many of whom were citizens of the USA....... born...in the USA!
You know this. If the Bush crime cabal succeeds in federalizing local, state
and county law enforcement....."Operation Endgame", will go on
endlessly......with no deadline!!!
Millions will be imprisoned first...and then deported. You know this. You have
studied the proposed immigration enforcement proposals. You know the details
better than most people. You just fail to..."connect the dots".
That is what I do.... I...."connect the dots".
Now the U.S. war against our people has been going on since 1846.
It has included military invasion, confiscation of properties and lands,
racism, discrimination, political disenfranchisement, etc, etc.....
In the 1990's, right wing commentator Pat Buchanan began his hate propaganda
campaign against our people through his books, newspaper columns, radio show
interviews, CNN, and his failed Reform Party presidential campaign.
His basic premise was that due to the exponential growth of the Hispanic
population in the USA, that "American culture" was in danger of becoming
extinct. That bilingual education, promotion of multi-culturalism, and
unchecked immigration was threatening the very existence of an anglo-american
cultural dominance. PUNTO!
He provided the ideological rhetoric for the re-emergence of the minutemen, and
for the political resurgence of organized white supremacist "hate groups"
which, using Buchanan's rhetoric, were able to emerge from the extreme fringes
of the right wing spectrum, and who now dominate the national debate and
subsequent policies of the Bush crime cabal.
In November of 2001, a conference was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. In attendance
was Erik Prince, Founder/CEO of Blackwater USA, Peter King, Tom Tancredo, James
Sensenbrenner, Arnold Schwartznegger, and the founder of the Minutemen, Jim
Gilchrist.
With the financial backing of Erik Prince's massive fortune, these right wing
fascists began their campaign against the Mexican undocumented workers and
families. Their policies were soon embraced by the Bush Crime
Cabal....ergo...."Operation Endgame".
"Operation Endgame" is a component of the "global war on terror", as
conceptualized by the Project for a New American Century, and carried out by
the Bush Crime Cabal.
Now, the war against Mexican immigrant families has the financial resources of
private warlords, the MAJOR OIL ENERGY DEFENSE INDUSTRY (MOEDI) MEDIA and the
backing of the Homeland Security Gestapo.
And you expext me to believe that Operation Endgame will be a limited project,
with a short lifespan, and will not become a draconian nightmare for everyone
in the USA?
No Jorge....I disagree with you. I want people to be afraid of the "powers"
that are behind Operation Endgame......I want them to dread what is happening
now...and what could happen in the near future.
I'm not going to "sugar coat" this analysis with a bunch of "idealistic
denials".
No.
The "powers" behind Operation Endgame are sinister, evil forces.....and it is a
major blunder, to dismiss their nefarious intents.
I will not do that.
As an old friend once taught me...."I may not be right....but I WILL NOT...be
wrong."
I do agree with you that resistance is imperative.....but resistance that is
limited to endless protests, press conferences, and prayer vigils is not enough!
We all agree (Tony, Jorge, Carlos) that something must be done to confront the
dangers of the neo-fascist Operation Endgame.
We just disagree as to what the "Endgame" is going to be.
