We believe families are the foundation of American society. Yet, so many of the public policies adopted by the U.S. Congress and our state legislatures come between parents and their rights to make the best decisions for their children. ---- Are your know that each date we have thousands of children that born in USA from parents latinos? How you can different between my daughters "illegals" or my daughters "legals"? This is racism organization? Thank you for share your answer with our community. Please respond to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Latinos Support Network) and I attach a couple messages about your "dangerous ads" . [EMAIL PROTECTED] I just came back from being away at a conference and hadn't seen the add. I feel bad that I haven't been around to engage in addressing these very troublesome issues. I had been pleasantly surprised lately that the anti-immigrant rhetoric had been mostly absent from this electoral season. However I was saddened and outraged that these right wing groups have taken upon themselves to bring this series of lies and misleading information back into local campaigns with the sole purpose of inflaming people's emotions against immigrants. This is divisive, unethical and immoral. In the same manner, I am saddened and angry that in spite of all our good faith efforts Sheriff Mahoney insists on his unjust policy against our immigrant communities. At Monday's LUChA meeting we will be discussing how to more effectively respond to both actions. We will also have a presentation by Ken Syke on the Madison School, District referendum and other important announcements from the LAtino Education Council. Attached is our agenda for Monday. Sal Carranza LUChA ---- Thank you Mr. Waelti for your answer. Our community not support your horrible advertising and we can said thank you for your clarification about this Ads where appear your picture. Couple things about the immigrants Mr. Waelti and your "anti-immigrant advertising" - The Immigrants support the Social Security with the taxes that do not claim thousandths of aliens - The immigration situation not is a problem with the aliens, is a problem with immigrant policy that not respond at global needs and new USA where more Americans with latino background is part of this country. As you and your grandfathers. - The Immigrants from Illinois coming to Wisconsin because they find (or your too) better places for your families. Some families are owners of big business that paid a lot taxes, some examples LA BAMBA and CARNICERIA GUANAJUATO and now hundreds of new businessmen. - The main country that buy things from Wisconsin is MEXICO. Why attack the people of this important partner of the Wisconsin Economic? - Now one question:How would you know that "ALIENS" are illegal or legal? I could be alien and I feel very disappointment with this bad advertising against my thousandths of people that have that have my same color and my same language. Do YOU know how many Latinos buy and bought hundreds of houses in Oregon? I would just like to know if the only problem you really have is i don't know maybe. . .RACISM? if that is your problem then please just keep that to yourself. and don't create ways to be racist to our diverse community. Don't create "anti-aliens" advertising. I have daughter, she is American Citizen and I don't want more people find that my daughter is guilty of the problems in our communities. We need create a new vision of the new country and you as democrat or republican can help to build this idea. I request for you to please apologize to our entire community and you can send the apologie to the L.A.S.U.P.(lasup@ yahoogroups. com) ( which is the the email network from hundreds of organizations, people and companies, that saw your insulting advertisement. ) . Thanks for your attention, ALEJANDRO RIANO Thank you for your support! hasEML = false; Waelti for Assembly --- On Mon, 10/20/08, Jorge Mujica <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: Jorge Mujica <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Press Conference against anti immigrant campaign in Du Page To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], "ChicagoMayDay" <[email protected]> Date: Monday, October 20, 2008, 10:54 AM PRESS RELEASE: !No More Immigrant Bashing in Dupage! Notice of Press Conference: Thursday, October 23, 2008 11 AM, Congressman Peter Roskam's Office, 150 S. Bloomingdale Road, Suite 200 Bloomingdale, IL 60108 Contacts: Cristobal Cavazos (630)545-0373, Rafael Vieyra (630)965-0145, Rita Gonzalez (630) 456-1792 What: 6th District Congressman Peter Roskam has embarked upon another "Blame Pedro" Campaign designed for short-term political gain heading into November's elections. On September 19, Roskam, a freshman in Congress seeking a second term against Democratic challenger Jill Morganthaler, would become the first congressman to make use anti-immigrant ads in Illinois this election cycle with a direct-mail piece sent out to supporters. These ads, paid for by the Illinois Republican Party, make use of the anti-immigrant code word "illegals" in reference to the nations undocumented immigrant population. The Roskam campaign also incorporates anti-Latino stereotypes by featuring images of "border-hopping" Hispanic types while questioning whether "we" have "enough border-security." In addition, Roskam, again in coded language, suggests that any kind of an immigration reform- a policy favored by most Americans- amounts to "granting amnesty." "We deserve better than this" suggests Roskam. The congressman sent out these ads a day after Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) an anti-immigrant, enforcement only, extremist group announced their endorsement of Roskam giving him an "A" rating. In sum, Roskam, who made use of similar ads two years ago in his campaign against Democratic challenger Tammy Duckworth, is adding to the surge of hate and violence that has surrounded the immigration debate. It is the desire of us in Immigrant Solidarity Dupage to publicly denounce Roskam's use of rhetoric and imagery that demonizes immigrants and Latinos, while expressing our solidarity with the nation's underclass of undocumented workers.
