MAYAN CALENDAR NEWS: YOU ARE INVITED - INAUGURATION - 12/5/08 - OUR LADE OF
GUADALUPE ANGLICAN CATHOLIC MISSION
OK MAYAN READERS,
The heroic work of Pastor Jose Landeverde, Marilu and Jesus vargas, and the
other members who volunteer their time and resources in defense of our
immigrant community, deserves our whole hearted and generous support.
Day in and day out, these noble and humble people make tremendous sacrifices to
insure that the rights of human beings, being held in detention are protected,
and are vigilant in working with their families to provide for their emergency
needs.
Again, I reiterate that the monumental task that La Mision has undertaken
deserves our support.
en la lucha,

Our Lady of Guadalupe Anglican Catholic Mission invites everybody to the
inauguration of its new location, at 3442 W. 26th St., in Little Village
Since its inception, our Mission has been dedicated to defend the cause of the
immigrant community and to render services on its behalf no other organization
has. Among other services and actions we have taken, we opened a Pantry for the
families of immigrants arrested by ICE, we have helped them to pay the rent, we
started a clothing exchange program and we help their sons and daughters in
after-school programs.
As the Immigration authorities increased their operations against our
community, we increased our actions, helping dozens of people to get legal
help, we have trained more people on their rights in case of ICE operations, we
have demonstrated publicly in defense of the immigrant community and we have
helped to develop incipient leaders among those affected by Immigration.
At our new location we have the possibility to increase and develop even
further our actions, services and help, expanding some and creating other
programs to cater to the immigrant community.
On December 5th, we will have two activities: at 11 a.m., a formal inauguration
with Bishop Larry Shaver, Obl., O.S.B., S.T.D. of the Anglican Province of
America, Saint Augustine Dioceses and distinguished guests, and at 6 p.m. a
popular inauguration to celebrate the opening of our new location, with the
Little Village and Pilsen communities. We sincerely hope you can join us at
either time!
