Dear friends; We have an urgent request for someone to post bond for a man who is locked up in Batavia, NY. We have brought his wife, daughter, and vehicle back here, but the bond money was not available for him until today. It is a 2,000 bond which the wife has raised. We need for someone in NY to go an post it. We can wire it to the person who will post it.
We are hoping to avoid the trauma of deportation for this family. Thank you for any help you may be able to offer. If you bond him out, we can get him back to Detroit. This family is from Guatemala and were going to NY for work (obviously). They were detained in Bufallo last weekend and my cousin, who lives in Buffalo, graciously bonded out the wife, who was gravely ill, and their two year old daughter, who was quite traumatized. She brought them to Detroit the following day and the following Monday, Julio and I drove to Bufallo to get their truck and drove it back to Detroit. Now the rest of the family has raised the bond money for the man. To post bond, one must have a valid social security number, give an address and show i,d. The bond money will come back to you if the person returns to their home country and checks in at the consulate. When the money comes back to us, we return it to the people who raised it. That means you cash the check and send it to them if it ever comes back to you. Batavia NY is the detention center they were moved to from Buffalo. If you can do this today, Sat or Monday, please contact us as soon as possible. We know this is a lot to ask, but we have done a lot with our international contacts and it would make a huge difference to this family, who have suffered so much.
