Hi Linda. I'm Lacey. We have one chihuahua, FiFi. I've always worked
at vets and had many differect dog breeds in the past, but she is my
first chihuahua. When we first got her, we also had a pug and a
boxer. She did great with both of the dogs. Then we moved to Germany
(husband is military) and could only bring one dog with us. So we
brought her. She is still doing fine being an only dog. She does
like to go with us everywhere and she is a lot more spoiled now.
Most of the time when she is home alone, she lays in her bed and
naps and plays with her toys. I make sure to leave all of her toys
where she can get to them. She was also very easy to potty train.
She very rarely has an accident in the house. I would recommend
crate training your new chi. This worked very well for potty
training and she loves her kennel. She never minds going in there,
where some dogs bark the whole time. This is great for traveling.
She had to be in her kennel for about 20 hours straight the day we
moved to Germany. She never made a sound the whole trip. Just
something to think about if you are planning on taking her on family
vacations, etc. Anyway, Welcome to the group! ~Lacey
