Your chi will probably out grow this. He just needs time to get used 
to you, and that could take a few months. Don't scold him for this 
though, as it will make him more fearful. Fifi did this also when we 
first got her. She stopped after she learned that we would never hurt 
her. As he gets more used to you, his surroundings, and becomes more 
confident he'll stop. Put yourself in his shoes, wouldn't you be 
scared and submissive if you were the new kid on the block and all you 
noticed was a huge handing coming down at you? I know I would be..lol! 
Maybe avoid coming straight down on him. Try sitting down with your 
hands out to him, but resting on the floor, and let him come to you.
