Hi
Katie,
So
sorry to hear about Sophie. We will keep her in our prayers for a successful
recovery.
I
know how you feel about leaving her at the vet’s. I am home all day
with my little girl too. Hopefully though the vet is keeping her sedated
and she is resting a lot. Maybe the vet can give you something to keep
her quieter when you are able to take her home as well.
Good
luck

Hello all
Ive been a member of this forum for a while.
Ive really enjoyed the
stories and advice and have been saddened with
each passing of a
little one. I was going to get around to
introducing myself and my
chi Sophie but now I need help and prayers.=(
Sophie is 7 months old and the joy of my
life. <besides my wonderful
3 older human kiddies=) > I have had a
lot of doggies Ive loved but
Sophie seems to be surpassing them all. She
is so wonderful and so
attached to me. It's like she worships
me. lol Kinda flattering=)
Anyways, I thought my daughter and I were doing a
good thing when we
took in a mamma cat and her kittys to foster until
the kittys could
be placed. Mamma Cat was to be
downstairs. So...yesterday I left
the door open...cry...and mamma cat got upstairs,
and scratched
Sophie in the eye. Sophie was rushed to the
vet, then to a vet
opthamoligist. To keep this short...er, for
the best prognosis,
Sophie had microsurgery on her eyeball yesterday
to close a puncture
that went all the way to the center of her
eyeball. They wanted to
keep her over night to keep her quiet. I
couldnt even go see her
because they didnt want her excited and
jumping. We did drop off her
beddy and special food. I may know more
today but her prognosis
seems guarded. If the eyeball stays full of
blood it could cause the
retina to detach causing blindness in that
eye. If the eye dies, it
may have to come out. I am sick sick sick
over this. Ive cried off
and on since it happened and am crying now.
She has to be so sad and
confused without me. I dont work and we are
always together. IF
they let her come home, she cannot jump or play
for a week at least!
She is a 7 month old puppy!! I know they would
kind of like to keep
her, but I want her home! Im not a
dummy. I went to school and was
a vet tech for about 2 years in my younger
days. She's 4 pounds and
a lap dog. I really think I could hold her
most of the day. When I
couldnt hold her I could kennel her. She's
never kenneled, but I do
have one, and I think she would be happier
kenneled here than at the
vet's. What do I do???? =(
Sorry sooo long.
