hi!
I have the chi for dummies book. It is excellent. I would get
it and that's the only book u will need. Unlike some breed
specific books, the dummies book has a lot on Chis. Not the 2 pages
most breed specific books have then the rest of the book is general dog
info. Dummies books always seem good and sooo easy to read.=)
If you have your heart set on a certain size dog, check out a chihuahua
weight chart. It is far from accurate, in my opinion, but it will give you
an idea of how big the puppy may get. I dont think the chart factors in
that some puppy will grow up with a thin build or the stocky build. Please
do not get a tiny if you plan to breed someday. I do not breed. If
you talk to a GOOD breeder, you will find it takes a very special person.
There is a lot of work if for example a puppy wont nurse, vet expense if
something goes wrong... I could go on and on and on... AND if you
are going to breed get a good typy chihuahua from a very good breeder.
If you arent going to adopt from a pound or society. I strongly
recommend a good breeder.
Hopefully, your puppy will be about 12 weeks when you adopt it. If
you read back through the recent posts, you will see the heartbreak a member
here just had trying to do a nice thing and buying a 6 week old chihuahua.
