Hi Lin   I've been thinking about this post you made this morning and wish I could help you with Sparky.  I am not a great dog trainer when it is a little tricky like with Sparky so maybe someone else will post to the board or write you at your email.  I could be so wrong, but it just seems like getting Sparky to comfortably come to you when called would be such a good start.  You've posted to the group a few times that you do have a disabilty, which is one of the reasons the dog you hope to add to your home needs to be pretty small.  It makes me think that just basic obedience advice, if that's what Sparky needs?, may not work for you. Hmmm..I kind of hope a member that is good with what's going on with you and Sparky will maybe email you privately, so you two could go back and forth with emails to brainstorm this.   katie " Lets talk about our wonderful little friends!
