SOME rescue people really feel strongly about "no breeding". I'm on the
fence. Some should be/could be bred, some not. What happened if
everyone stopped breeding? I know that would never happen - but....

I DO spay/neuter ALL rescues that come thru my program prior to adopting
them. I do not believe in breeding mixes, do not believe in breeding
"designer dogs" (go to the pound, they are ALL designer dogs. I cant
believe people are paying BIG $$s to buy these dogs...Grrrr), I do not
even believe in breeding 2 purebred dogs together all the time. Most
dogs, purebred or not, should not be bred!!!

I feel if somebody is going to breed, they must research, find the
"right" two dogs that will better the breed, and help get rid of faults
and health problems, right personality etc. Most, but NOT all, show
people - do it this way. I'm not saying only show people should breed.
And not saying just because a dog is being shown and/or Championed, it
should be bred. That's another hot topic all in it's own!!!!

There are many people who do not show, that take great care in locating
the best, healthiest lines they can and breed them.....to better the
breed!!! That is who I want to buy MY dogs from!

Anyway, I'm sorry Marsha for the way you were treated. You do not need a
yahoo group to make a difference in the dog rescue world!

If you want to talk, let me know. I've been doing rescue for MANY
years. I personally have been turned down to adopt a rescue dog because
I have an intact male that is CH and I occasionally get the bug to show
him again. Even though the rescue I was inquiring on, was spayed. But
that's ok. Each rescue has their own set of rules and I respect them.
When I'm adopting out, I do look at that too. If their dogs are not
spayed/neutered.....I will inquire as to why, but might not adopt to
them depending on the answer. Just because a person shows and/or
breeds, doesnt mean they wont a make perfect home for a rescue dog too.

I also have my "human breeding" issues too. If we could get humans to
breed ONLY if they were going to better the human race. Find the right
bloodlines to breed etc - then maybe our world would be a better place
to live! :-P
