DD,

I'm no expert, but my vet said they should be checked at a year.  They
can be pulled without anesthesia (especially if they are loose).  In
the olden days when I worked for a vet as a kid they did.  I wouldn't
go that route if they're a lot of them.    Lacey is the vet tech.  I
hope she'll respond as she has more knowledge than me.
