OK, answering my own question here......I finally got a
syringe and filled it with warm water (over and over again) and squirted it
inside the kitten's ears, then between each squirt, allowed it to shake it's
head......it has loosed and removed pretty much all the crud I can see, so I
guess this helped. I wasn't really sure how smart it was to put a lot of water
in it's ears like that, but I figured anything had to be better than it was. I
don't think I have ever seen that much crud inside any animals ears, even
strays.
It appears to have a little bit of a upper respiratory
infection, and it had fleas. I have wormed it, just in case, have cleaned it's
ears, have given it a bit of antibiotic that I had on hand for pets, and have
bathed it and picked off all the fleas I could find.
Am I missing anything? I really don't have a lot of cat
knowledge.
