Barley was born March 12, so that puts him at....13 weeks?? He and Emily are the same age. :-) How much does Emily weigh now? He is not fat, but he does have the cobbly body. Ginger also is cobbly, but Honey was skinny type. I like the skinny ones. :-) The weight gain could very well be a result of better feeding...it could also be a result of the fact that I free feed. Whichever way it is, he does not appear over weight for his build. He looks really good for his body type.
But you are right, the effect on Ginger makes him invaluable to me. I wouldn't take anything in the world for him. My goal when I got him was to help Ginger and he did meet that goal. But I must admit, I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone and get one that could also be usaed in the future as a stud. If he gets that big or if some of the "funny traits" I am seeing in him continue or increase as he matures, then he will not be suitable for breeding. I only want to breed a good quality chi!
