Marsha, we were like that too, with the shipping that's why we picked Brutus and Dixie up from Deb Ammons (Debdans) the first time (10 1/2 hour trip each way).  But Pebbles & Krimpet came through just fine being flown and were treated really well by AA employees.  We were  very very nervous but they were just fine!!!!

It was a quicker time of flying than us traveling with them, that's for sure, but then you can't hold them while traveling either.  I just had some Nutra Cal & water with us and gave it to them as soon as I signed the paperwork.  They are doing wonderfully and we have had them a little over a week now!  We love them all so much!

Each of my grandsons held one on the way home from the airport.

Cindy, I am seriously considering, if Barley doesn't work out, to
break my rule against shipping and look at getting a pup from you. Of
course, that will be at least 6 months before I would know anything
about Barley or before I could afford another pup, but if I have to
get another one, I would rather get one this time from someone I know
I can trust to have a good quality pup and you are at the top of that
list. I adore your pups. I go to your website at least once a week
just to see them, lol. I do hate the whole concept of shipping a pup
and would never make a habit out of it, but I may be tempted to break
that rule just one time.

Barley now? Is he a chub? My Emmy who is 3 months now, so must be
about 13 weeks, is a chub. Her vet says good! A very healthy
chubby puppy. Now I don't like the weight charts that much, unless
for a guestimate kind of like you said, Marsha. I wonder how a
chubby puppy can factor into that thing. I know a gal whose chi
pup was charting in the 2 pound range. Well, this gal gets the puppy
and puts her on a better puppy food and puppy plumps up a bit, hair
coat improves, etc., and now puppy

bigger than thought but he has been such a God send for Ginger.
You'll just have to wait and see I guess. I know it leaves you
without a dern stud again, but the emergency was kind of Ginger. Now
you can sit back and find just what you're looking for?

went to the vet for a well puppy check and for his last set of puppy
shots. When I got him three weeks ago, he was at 1 pound, 5 oz...thus
charting between 3 1/2 to 4 pounds grown. NOW, he weighs 3 pound 5 oz
(a 2 pound gain in 3 weeks!!) and is charting at 6 pounds!!!
