If he is 5mos old He has your number..........let's see mom puts that darn thing on and I cry...hey mom takes it off!  If there is now physical reason (for example too tight) than put it on and let him cry.  When he stops and if you ignore the crying he will then a treat without taking it off.   as a matter of fact mine learned that if he had to pee when I got home from work he better let me put that leash on.  He wasn't allowed out without it.   Anna
