>Accidents do happen to the best of us.....rather it be an accident that injures or kills a beloved pet or an accident that results in an unplanned pregnancy, they are just that, accidents. Not one human being is immune from mistakes.
However, I am not so full of myself as to even think for one moment that the incident with my son and chi was an accident. It certainly was not. No, he did not intend to kill Honey, but he did intend the actions that led to Honey;s death. I could not just let that go. So, I filed criminal animal abuse charges against him. NOT because I wanted to harm my son and NOT in retaliation or retribution, but simply because he had to learn a hard lesson. He is doing much better now. We are taking it day by day. I am still fighting to bring myself to forgiveness. It is hard for me.....I am having a very hard time fogiving this, but I know that in order for either of us to heal, I must do so.
