I just bought this little girl
She weighs 1 1/4 pounds
She was cage trained
But when I got her home, she had a hard time walking
It took a few days
It was like her legs were weak
She runs around her like a 2 year old child , now
Sometimes she hides in the toy pile and and blends
in with the toys and we can't find her.
I for one would not put one in a cage
But, I do know a lot of folks do
I am retired and am home with them a lot.......
And they have free run.
We have an acre of fenced and gated property
So they are inside outside dogs
And Chihuahuas LOVE the heat...........
If the baby seems to cry a lot, use a heating pad on low with a
towel on it......
This little girl,,,her name is Ginger
Wakes up and runs to the puddle pad right away.
We have not seen her go, anywhere but the puddle pad.
I have 2 down one in each room that she is usually in..
I think we just got lucky !!!!
Oh by the way we have 8 of them
And love each one like it is our
child...............
The oldest is 13 and the youngest 9 weeks

Newcomer to the group
Hi! Everyone,
I'm Susan from Central FL. Since I am getting a new puppy in
eight
weeks, I wanted to join this group and hopefully learn alot
about
sharing my home and life with a Chihuahua.
My daughter-in-law has the litter that produced four pups They
were
born last saturday in TN. She emailed pics and I have chosen the
only
male who happens to have an interesting color. When I figure out
how
to attach the picture, you can see what I mean.
I just moved into an apartment and I work 5 days a
week. Any ideas on
how to start training would be appreciated. Does anyone
use a
crate? I have never used one before and at first, it
didn't sound
very appealing. However, many folks do use them and
there are
positives.
Also, I am searching for a name. Any suggestions?
