My Chiclet had occasional constipation because of the
prescription food she eats. I started giving her a spoonful of plain
canned pumpkin every night (not pumpkin pie filling, just the plain pumpkin)
with about half the contents of an acidophilus capsule sprinkled over it.
That took care of the problem Acidophilus is the bacteria culture in
yogurt. It helps maintain the healthy bacteria in the bowels. You
could also give your dog a little plain yogurt, too, but make sure the yogurt
says "active culture" or "live cultures".
