I think the answer can only be found within yourself. Only you can determine if you are able to care for a certain number of pets. Just take everything into consideration...the cost of care, the time involved, the ability to give individual attention, ect. Don't forget to also think about unexpected emergencies that could arise like vet bills or family responsibilities that may take you away for a time. In the end, only you can make the right decision for you.

Personally, right now, I have 8 dogs, 4 cats and a rabbit. This year I have lost one chi, one lamb and one parakeet and sold one horse. There are always pets coming in and out of my life. I have developed a good relationship with my vet and know that if an emergency arises, I have a payment plan option and can get my pets the necessary medical treatment regardless of any current finances. I have outside help that can care for my pets should I need to be gone for a few days. And I take turns each day taking one of my dogs with me for the day for a little one on one time. IT all works for me.

Subject: {SPAMFILTER} [Chihuahuas] Need Chi advice

Hey all as most of you know I'm chi sitting my brothers dog Little
Man. Well my sister in law told me about a friend of her's that has
gotten into drugs again and she has 3 chi's Little Man's brother and
2 sisters. Well the girls mom is willing to take two and I'm
thinking of taking one of the girls. Her name is Macy and my sister
in law says she's quite and a love puppy. The girls boyfriend
apparently threw her across the room (I'd like to throw him out a
two story window for that). That's the biggest reason I'm thinking
of taking her and she's a small dog she should weight about 5 pounds
and they guess she's closer to eight and that's not good for her
little legs. What I really need to know is should I take her
because a puppy just showed up at my house three days ago and I
decided to keep him, and I already have my shepard/collie mix 11
month old. Do you think that would be too much for one person, I
also have a parrakeet. She's not hard to take care of and I really
don't think another dog would be too much trouble, because my
brother will take Little Man back when they get their trailer and
get moved in. Well since I've gone on about this I'll let everyone
go for now.
P.S. For anyone who thinks I'm a dog collector or a horder I've
always said I would limit myself to three dogs. Like I said the
bird isn't really all that hard to take care of.

Thanks for your advice
Brenda
