I have been considering running one of those top bars through the bottom of mine. You know how there is that big think bar at the top of the fence that keeps it straight??? A lot of the premanufactured kennels have this at the bottom. Has anyone tried this with a chain link fence? If so, does it work?? I thought it may help keep out my big Husky/wolf mix who keeps pushing in part of the lower fence in order to get into the back yard.

I'll throw out my .02.

We have a really big back yard with chain link fencing.  Obviously this won't contain a chi, there's always gaps and holes under the bottom of the fence.  What we did is run a strip of chicken wire all the way around the bottom.  We took a piece of thicker wire and wove it through the very bottom of the chicken wire to keep the bottom down.  Then, at regular intervals we drove pieces of iron rebar down through the chicken wire and into the ground to anchor the chicken wire down firmly.  We've never had an escape yet, but then I don't take my chis outside except on a leash -- we have tons of large hawks and owls around here and several chis have been carried off.
