I have heard of several people who use the Dawn as someone said. I have never heard anything negative about it. I personally choose to simply not treat my pregnant/lactating females or my pups until they are 3 to 4 months old. Since everyone is treated the rest of the time, we never have a problem to deal with, so I just take my chances. Better a flea on a pup than a deformity or sickness. So far, I have never had a single flea on a pup. Some of my chis do pick up a flea after playing out all day, but the flea med (I use frontline) keeps them from reproducing more fleas.

no. Absolutely not. Nor should they ever be used on a pregnant dog.
