Absolutely not. This is WAY underweight. You need to find a vet with
chihuahua specific experience. I would recommend a very nutritionally dense
food (I personally like Innova EVO) and start putting some healthy weight on
these dogs. You should be able to feel a healthy dog's ribs and spine, but
not SEE them. I would have them checked for parasites and a blood panel
done.

  I am new to my state (lived here only a few months and don't know where to get Innova), I have never owned a Chi and since I was not prepared (I usually research all pets before getting one) I am flying by the seat of my pants. I know some things about dogs but not everything. Do you recommend a soft diet or the crunchy type. These puppies have only eaten dry and this concerns me a bit. Shouldn't they eat soft too? They seem to eat very very little.
