So, far the systems I've seen mentioned in the group are all flat surfaces. This makes me wonder if a male dog will use it for peeing? My Bernie sometimes will pee on the flat (say, if he finds some yummy pee in the grass that some other dog has left behind), but more often he insists on finding something vertical. On leash walks, he will literally "hold it" until he finds a vertical. So ... how are these patches of grass supposed to work for a dog like him?
It was kind of funny that one of the indoor systems had an online "tutorial" in which they used only the masculine pronoun (he/him) throughout in describing the dog to be trained. Yet every picture showed the dog peeing as a female does. Hm ... I suppose you could attach a plastic post or wall somewhere in the patch of astro turf. But even so, I wonder if a male dog would be happy going there every time, or do they have some need to "ramble"?
