My Swee'Pea started getting a skipping stride at about that age, no pain just that hopping skip, grade 1 patella luxation, we just took a wait-and-see attitude, now she is 12 years old and doing great, the leg never got worse or better, but never did seem to bother her at all, she is very happy to skip from here to there.
