Some of you may remember my post last month, on my birthday, my dog Cookie getting loose and leading me on a wild goose chase before 7 am. Well, she must be a holiday dog because this morning she offered a repeat performance!!
We got up and was just getting ready to start dressing for church when the kids let me know she was loose again. We threw on coats and ran out the door. This time, she went the opposite direction but just as far! We chased her through a field, into the woods, along a creek (which I ended up getting wet in). At some point, I some how got separated from her and my son. I tried calling for them, but of course, being Deaf, I didn't know if son answered! I was getting worried because it was a dangerous area and I feared son could get hurt and I would never know. I was crying and feeling helpless not being able to hear if he needed help. I ran home (about a half mile) stopping at a house to try to call for help but no one came to the door. Made it to my drive and saw some fellow church members on their way to Sunday School and flagged them down and asked them to go get my mom. I then got in my truck and drove back to the last place I had seen them. Got out, hollered some more, cried some more, prayed some more. Drove back to see what was taking mom so long and finally see son coming carrying cookie! He had caught her in an old rock quarry about a mile from the house. I cried some more...this time relief! lol. BUT, Satan didn't win...we made it to church! lol. Marsha
