I am having a similar problem. My 9 week old from my last litter that I am
keeping is giving me a really hard time. I am a BIG fan of crate
training...keeping it crated at night and when it can not be supervised, but
this one is a MAJOR whiner! Of all the chis I have ever had, I have never had
one cry like this! The whole litter was major cry babies, but now that they are
gone, this one never stops unless it is being held...and then continues to
whimper. I have waited up to an hour and a half at night the last 3 nights
hoping it would wear itself out and go to sleep. It doesn't even stop for 5
seconds. My kids can't sleep with that noise, so I have ended up getting it out
and it has been sleeping with me. No idea how I am gonna housebreak it if it is
free to roam!! When my kids go to my moms to spend a night this weekend, I
plan to take my hearing aids out and just let it cry all night to see if that
helps.

It is not getting off to a good housebreaking start!! On the other hand, my mom
has taken one of the litter mates to begin its housetraining before it goes to
it's new home. She has had it less than a week and it is doing soooooo good. It
goes to potty every time it is taken out and it has had only 2 accidents in the
house. Maybe she knows something I don't! I have never been real good with
housebreaking anyhow, lol.

Best of luck to you...I realize this post did not help you at all!! lol

  Subject: [Chihuahuas] Training Issues....

I have a 12 week old chihuahua. I love him dearly and could not be
happier with him. I am having some trouble training him though. I
amusing the wee wee pads and when he pees he will go right over to
them no problem and pees. Going #2 is another story he just goes
wherever he wants. I am usually catching him and putting him on the
pad just in time and prasing him very much, but he is just not
catching on quite yet. Any tips you have would be so great! thanks
  Noelle
