Though Henry's not a big barker at home (we live in the sticks) he lets me know if someone/thing is out there (and though I am grateful, at times I need to say "enough" and "thanks" to end it) We just did out first roadtrip and it took some getting used to being in motels where folks could be coming and going right outside our door all night, but he really did get the hang of it after awhile. For which I was grateful as some times we needed to stop in a place where he was not allowed (oops) and had to be sneakily tucked in my coat. lov michelle and henry ps Motel Sixes and KOA cabins were all over the place, usually pretty cheap and almost always allowed pets -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, 11 Jan 2007 10:41 AM Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Chis and barking
And none of mine have, not the yippy yappy stuff anyway. I have two now who sleep in the computer room through noise and din in a highrise condominium that is currently going through some very serious noisy exterior concrete work. Even that has not excited them. They are "watchdogs" and will bark to tell me when someone is at the front door. I appreciate that, often am in the computer room and not always keyed into a light tap at door. If someone uses the doorbell, they are even more vehement about letting me know someone is outside the door. But overall, my dogs are neither nervous nor yippy yappy. I have a female and male now, young. I lost an older female in 2004 and an older male in 2006. They also were not barkers. Elaine > All of the chi's I've owned have been barkers.
