  His coat is a lovely fawn and white, his eyes are even lovelier green

    not unless his coat is green :-) Standards call for the nose and eyes to be 
self colored, meaning that they should be the same color as the coat color, 
with white coats permitting just about any color. Blue will be seen in some 
merles because the merle gene is actually a blue dilute. Some with black 
masking will show black nose/eyes. this is acceptable because the masking is 
considered part of the coat color. But bottom line, if the eyes and nose do not 
match any of the coat, then it is not to AKC standards. Of course, unless you 
plan to breed or show...who gives a crap what color they are ???lol. They are 
still adorable chis!!!
