This video made me cry and reminded me of why I quit my last job with OSU as a
research nurse. I had to deal with apes and beagles, this job was the reason
for me to became a vet tech after 4 yrs as an RN . . . it was the most horrible
thing I've had to do in my entire life. I'm now a house wife and Medical
Interpreter from time to time (on call) and I'd never forget those inocent
animals who never had even seen the sunlight...they are mostly breeded and
raised in a lab environment and are submited to blood tests everyday and many
other invasive tests many of them painful. Few of these animals come from puppy
mills and they (breeders) even have contracts to supply the research lab with
healthy pups every X time. It's incredible how humans are capable of love in
such big ways but sometimes can't even see a miracle of life even if they have
it on front of their eyes.
When I was traveling from PR to Ohio a young man came to see Fiona and said " I
truly believe that everytime a baby is born no matter what species is God is
telling us there's still hope" It surprised me because he looked like any other
teenager but I guess this showed me that indeed hope is not lost yet....maybe
the future would be brighter for our children and their companions.
