  Subject: [Chihuahuas] New to Group!

Hi! I'd like to introduce myself. My husband and I are proud parents
to a 3-year old Chi who I rescued from the No-Kill animal shelter
where I volunteered. His name is Teddy! When we brought him home he
weighed two pounds and had been severely abused. He had a leg that
had been left unfixed from a birth defect so he could only walk on 3-
legs. Well, two leg surgeries later he now runs around like a normal
spunky Chi. However, he also had to endure a bleeding ulser that
nearly killed him (thank you to VRCC in Colorado who saved his life)
and not to mention when we got him at 1 years old, he had been so
mistreated that nearly half his teeth were rotted out and had to be
pulled. Additionally, after all of this - the poor guy has food
allergies too!! However, I know that God brought him to us so he
could have the best life ever!! We never had any idea that we would
ever have a Chi, we only saw a little guy that needed a chance!
Additionally, Teddy lives with his best bud Parker, our lab, our Mutt
Canuck and two cats - all much bigger than him and all adopted!
However, Teddy still thinks he rules the house. :-) He spends his
days in the winter right now sleeping in the sun and on heating pads
we have throughtout the house for him to stay warm.

Anyway - we love him so much and hope to give another little Chi in
  need a home sometime soon.

I'm interested in the indoor-potty training. It gets so cold here in
the winter sometimes he just has such a hard time going potty
outside! I'm working with potty pads now so any suggestions would be
  appreciated!
  Thanks!
