Australia is a big country and each State and even each town just like
those in America and Britain have their own dialects and euphemisms.
Like a lot of countrys we do not sound like Steve or Crocodile Dundee.
This is a multi-cultural nation and some might find offensive the idea
that we all speak 'Strine". I have no clue where Steve originated from.
But my brother works as the manager for his charity. That part of my
family where very cut up after his death.
We are English and not born here, my children where of course as are my
grandchildren and my daughter in law is Italian. So you will find a
vast array of people here and not too many with 'Australian accents'
Cheers Furdion
