How long have you had her? Sometimes you just need to be patient. If she went 
outside 
through a dog door before her outside area might have been quieter than yours, 
or 
different in some way.. If she wasn't didn't get along with larger bigger dogs 
in her old 
home, she may have been really traumatised by that. My dog (I live in a big 
city- two doors 
away from the local fire dept on a somewhat noisy/busy street. I got my dog in 
the 
summer and I had the windows open a lot b/c it was warm, he used to crawl under 
the 
furniture and shake, and he never left me alone, constantly following me around 
the house 
etc., and it went on that way for 3-4 months. These things take time. Why don't 
know give 
yourselves a reasonable amount of time (say 2 months or 3) and if she isn't 
better then 
you could think about giving her back...
