I've owned and worked with chihuahuas for 25 years and I NEVER give them a bath unless they have gotten into something awful like tar on the beach. It is amazing because they somehow never get stinky, they always have a healthy very mild pleasant odor that reminds me of a Dorito chip if you put your nose right on them and smell. I must say I always have dealt with smoothcoat dogs, a longhair may well require more attention. Little Swee'Pea hasn't had a bath in 10 years and she is the cleanest prettiest little chihuahua girl you can imagine, and she spends most of her time running around dirty New York City! How does she stay so clean and white, it is amazing!
