I had a Cairn terrier & in the beginning it was more often taking
him out. But I found if I could stay awake until 11 then he'd sleep
until 5 am, but if I could only stay awake until 10 then he'd wake
me up at 2 & 5. Finally he'd sleep through most of the night (he
went outside, no pee pads, & we were in an apt building so I was
happy when he finally slept...occassionally woke up at night later
in life too)-us as humans wake up at night to go to the bathroom so
why do we expect our dogs not to do the same? They have smaller
bladders than us.

Hope it gets easier :o)
