Any dog that is not part of a well planned breeding program and/or showing
should be spayed/neutered for many reasons . Mostly, the health reasons.
Spaying/neutering greatly decreases risk of cancer. And when you have
undescended testicles, there is an even higher than normal risk of cancer and
other health problems.

My chi friend, Pepe' is having surgery on Thursday. He has an undescended
tesitcle and is having it (and the other one) removed. I know it is the right
thing to do, but I am nervous for him. I work in the medical field with humans
and I know all the things that can go wrong.

I trust the surgeon with my friend Pepe', but I am still nervous. He is
only two years old and at last weighing he is 4lbs 9 oz. It is hard to believe
that one so young and small could go through intubation and having his abdomen
cut open. Please pray for him. And pray that I do not communicate my silly
fears to him. He is so perceptive, it will be VERY difficult to keep anything
from him.

    Thank you.

    Theresa
